John Watson Landscape Illumination, Inc. (JWLI) sued Alfred Leslie Burden seeking a declaratory judgment that Burden was due no compensation under an employment contract that JWLI had terminated. Burden counterclaimed that JWLI breached the employment contract. Both parties filed motions for summary judgment.
