The defendant, John Levelle Jones, was charged with one count of the distribution of cocaine, in violation of La.R.S. 40:967(A)(1); one count of the possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, in violation of La. R.S. 40:967(A)(1); and one count of the possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, in violation of La.R.S. 14:95.1. On September 22, 1992, he pled guilty to all three charges.
