ANDERSON, Justice.

Gary Bridges entered a plea of not guilty to the offense of possession of cocaine, a controlled substance.1 The jury found Bridges guilty and the court assessed punishment, enhanced by two prior convictions, at 30 years confinement in the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division.
