Plaintiffs Marilyn Romo and her daughter, Misty Gardner, filed suit alleging that defendants Ron Champion, Bill McKenzie, Gary Maynard, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the Osage County Sheriff's Office, the Pawhuska County Sheriff's Office, and the Hominy City Police violated their constitutional rights in violation of 42 U.S.C. § 1983.
