OPINION

FOWLER, Justice.

Appellant pled not guilty before a jury to the offense of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. TEX.PENAL CODE ANN. § 31.07 (Vernon 1989).1 The jury found him guilty and assessed punishment at fifty years confinement in the Institutional Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. Appellant brings two points of error, claiming his punishment is cruel and/or unusual2
