HUITINK, Judge.

Jason Allen Mortley appeals his conviction, following a jury trial, of second-degree sexual abuse. We reverse and remand for new trial.

The criminal investigation focused on Mortley, a nineteen-year-old who is mentally retarded, after Clinton Police Officer David Speakman interviewed the victim, Mortley's eleven-year-old cousin. She accused Mortley of sexually abusing her over a number of years. Speakman had also interviewed other alleged victims...
