Frederick Davidson, a black Missouri inmate, brought this 42 U.S.C. § 1983 action alleging various prison officials, guards, and a doctor (collectively the defendants) violated Davidson's Eighth Amendment rights by using excessive force against him and ignoring his serious medical needs.
