Norma Jean Brown (defendant) appeals from her conviction of voluntary manslaughter, entered on 28 April 1993 in the Criminal Session of the General Court of Justice, Superior Court Division, Durham County. This conviction comes after defendant's trial for first degree murder. As a result of the conviction, defendant was sentenced to six years in prison.
