John and Judith Pluta and Carl and Susan Rutherford (hereafter appellants) appeal from a declaratory judgment finding they were not covered for damage to their homes from landslides and mudflows under homeowners insurance policies issued by United Services Automobile Association (USAA). Appellants claim the policies improperly attempt to circumvent the established rule of "efficient proximate cause". We agree and reverse.
