Thompson ("E.G.") and his wife Betty ("Betty"), collectively "Thompsons," sued State Farm Fire & Casualty Company ("State Farm") to collect the proceeds of an insurance policy ("Policy") covering a building that had been destroyed by fire and to collect other damages stemming from State Farm's conduct in handling Thompsons' claim.
