This mandamus action concerns the propriety of an order of the trial court disqualifying the law firm of Chaves, Gonzales & Rodriguez, L.L.P., (Chaves firm) from further representing the relator/defendants. The trial court found that a conflict of interest was created when the Chaves firm hired a secretary who had previously worked for a law firm that represents the plaintiffs.
