Melvin Swerdlow was tried non-jury and was found guilty of theft by receiving stolen property, criminal trespass and criminal conspiracy in connection with the January 4, 1991, burglary of two homes located at 7643 and 7645 Overbrook Avenue in Philadelphia. Following the denial of post-trial motions, Swerdlow was sentenced to serve concurrent four (4) year terms of probation on his convictions for criminal trespass and conspiracy.
