Kathy Shelton was convicted by a jury of mail fraud under 18 U.S.C. § 1341 and aiding and abetting mail fraud under 18 U.S.C. § 2. Shelton was a participant in a "staged" automobile accident which was conducted for the purpose of fraudulently procuring automobile insurance benefits.
