Appellant, Mark Orlando Harris, was charged in Hennepin County District Court with murder in the first degree in violation of Minn.Stat. § 609.185(2) (1992) for the death of Carol Abelseth.1 Following a jury trial, Harris was found guilty of Abelseth's murder and sentenced to life in prison.
