The plaintiffs, the towns of Brookline, Milton, Randolph, Lynnfield, and Stoneham, and officials and voters of the towns, seek relief in the nature of mandamus against the defendant, Secretary of the Commonwealth, which would invalidate the 1993 redistricting plan for the 160 representative districts of the House of Representatives in the Commonwealth. The plaintiffs maintain that St. 1993, c. 273, § 1, which establishes the new districts, is unconstitutional...
