In September 1992 the United States filed a petition for a rule to show cause why defendants Dean Vlahos and U.S. Sales Corporation should not be held to answer criminal contempt charges for alleged violations of a permanent injunction entered by Judge Brian Barnett Duff in February 1992. The government's petition alleged 11 separate violations of 18 U.S.C. § 401(3), which gives a federal court power to punish as contempt "[d]isobedience...
