The petitioner appeals from the dismissal of his petition for a writ of habeas corpus.1 He raises the following claims on appeal: (1) he received ineffective assistance from his trial counsel; (2) the trial court's canvass failed to comply with Practice Book § 711 (2) and (4); and (3) the state violated his right to due process when it altered the date of the alleged offense on the information.
