Defendants, William R. Shumate, Danny McCarthy and Daniel E. Holman, were arrested and charged with the offense of residential picketing (Ill.Rev.Stat.1991, ch. 38, par. 21.1-2 (now 720 ILCS 5/21.1-2 (West 1992))).
