On March 23, 1989, Deanne and Stephen Karr, as parents and next friends of Nicholas Karr, brought a medical malpractice action against Dr. Bradley Adams, seeking money damages for Nicholas' injuries. Dr. Adams died on May 24, 1989, and Alice Thweatt, executor of his estate, was substituted as defendant. Bank of Illinois was also substituted as plaintiff when it was appointed guardian of Nicholas' estate...
