This admiralty action stems from a late evening boating accident which resulted in serious injuries to plaintiffs-appellants. Although plaintiffs obtained default judgments against the operator of the boat in which they were riding at the time of the accident, the district court directed entry of judgment as a matter of law in favor of defendant-appellee Pendragon Marine Ltd., the owner of the boat, and the plaintiffs appealed.
