The parties have framed this matter as a straightforward discovery dispute under recently enacted Rule 26.1 of the Arizona Rules of Civil Procedure. Our review of the record, however, reveals that the case has as much if not more to do with the type of contentious conduct that first prompted this court to adopt the 1992 amendments to Arizona's civil discovery rules.
