The plaintiff-appellee, State Farm Mutual Automobile Insurance Company (State Farm), brought this declaratory judgment action to determine its coverage obligations arising out of an automobile accident.1 The accident was a single vehicle collision in which the driver Teddy Ray Dyer (Dyer) survived but the passenger Jody Glenn Dodgion was killed.
