Pauline and Emilio Ruiz brought this products liability suit against Whirlpool, Inc. ("Whirlpool"), Inter-City Products Corporation ("Inter-City"), Air Alamo Services ("Air Alamo"), and others. The plaintiffs alleged that a defective component in their heating and air conditioning system started a fire that damaged their home.
