Appellant Tommy Hawkins was tried to a jury in Ramsey County District Court and convicted of attempted first degree murder (Minn.Stat. §§ 609.185(4), 609.17 (1992)) and aggravated robbery (Minn.Stat. § 609.245 (1992)).
