Defendant appeals the trial court's denial of his motion for directed verdict in this case tried by the court without a jury.

Plaintiff brought suit against defendant seeking to recover money allegedly owed to him under an oral contract between plaintiff and the defendant. At trial, plaintiff testified that defendant orally promised to pay him $1,000 a month for 36 months beginning "around April of 1988" if plaintiff would guarantee financing...
