The appellant/defendant, Lynn Williams, originally was indicted on August 7, 1991, on charges of conspiracy to embezzle funds belonging to a labor union pension plan under 18 U.S.C. § 371 and embezzlement of those pension funds under 18 U.S.C. § 664.
