This case involves five separate appeals which arose out of a mortgage foreclosure action instituted by the mortgagees Leedom against: 1) the mortgagors Spanos, 2) a large number of homeowners who purchased their properties subject to a single prior mortgage executed by Spanos and from which a forged mortgage release later was filed by an unidentified individual, and 3) the sureties, Surricks, who had guaranteed payment by the original mortgagors to...
