In the face of what she anticipated was an impending discharge, the plaintiff Colette Conway quit her job as bookkeeper at the Associated Sleep Industries (ASI) division of the defendant Eclipse Sleep Products of New England, Inc. (Eclipse). The circumstances of Conway's departure involved assertions by her employer that she had diverted inventory and sold it for her own account or, at the least, had collaborated with ASI's shipping manager in selling company...
