Golden West Baseball Company (GWBC), which owns the California Angels baseball team, sued the City of Anaheim (Anaheim) when Anaheim issued a conditional use permit for Anaheim Stadium Associates (ASA) to construct an office complex on part of the parking lot of Anaheim Stadium. GWBC claimed the proposed development violated the terms of its "lease"
