Penny Jo Bechtold, a female diagnosed and treated for breast cancer, brought this action under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act ("ERISA"), 29 U.S.C. § 1132(a)(1)(B), to recover benefits under an ERISA-governed employee welfare benefit plan.
