Ione and Orman Cooper were arrested and indicted for grand larceny for removing flowers from the grave of Martha Benefield on the day following her funeral. They were tried together and both found guilty. The Coopers were sentenced to five years, suspended, and ordered to serve 45 days in the Itawamba County Jail. Additionally the Coopers were fined $750 each, ordered to each perform 200 hours community service, and placed...
