On March 26, 1993, defendant Kevin Morris pled guilty to aggravated battery, a violation of La.R.S. 14:34 and was sentenced to five years at hard labor, to run concurrently with sentences in 359-068 and 360-221. In addition, the State filed a multiple bill of information pursuant to La.R.S. 15:529.1, the Habitual Offender Law, seeking to have defendant declared a second offender based on an April, 1982 conviction for aggravated battery, also in violation...
