The defendant, D.R.R., was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse (Ill.Rev. Stat.1991, ch. 38, par. 12-16(c)(1)(i) (now 720 ILCS 5/12-16(c)(1)(i) (West 1992))) for committing an act of sexual conduct with his four-year-old daughter, E.R., by fondling her vaginal area for the purpose of his sexual arousal. He was also charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault (Ill.Rev.Stat.1991, ch. 38, par. 12-14(b)...
