Defendant, Vernon Edwards, was convicted of one count of aggravated criminal sexual assault and two counts of armed robbery. Pursuant to section 5-8-4(a) of the Unified Code of Corrections (Ill.Rev.Stat.1989, ch. 38, par. 1005-8-4(a)), the trial court sentenced defendant to concurrent 10-year terms on the armed robbery counts and imposed a 10year sentence on the aggravated criminal sexual assault charge which was...
