Plaintiff, James Gausselin, brought this action to recover for injuries he sustained while working at a nuclear power facility owned and operated by defendant, Commonwealth Edison. In count I of his complaint, plaintiff alleged violations of the Illinois Structural Work Act (Ill.Rev.Stat.1991, ch. 48, par. 60 et seq.). In count II, he alleged common law negligence.
