The defendant, Anthony C. Gipson, was charged by bill of information with one count of distribution of cocaine pursuant LSA-R.S. 40:967 A(1). After trial by jury on November 15, 1993, the defendant was found guilty of the offense. On January 5, 1994, the defendant was sentenced to nine years at hard labor.
