This case comes before us on the appeal of the defendant, Sol Martinez, from a judgment of conviction entered in the Superior Court for kidnapping of a minor (a child under the age of sixteen years) in violation of G.L. 1956 (1981 Reenactment) § 11-26-1.4, as amended by P.L. 1989, ch. 192, § 1.
