ANDERSON, Justice.

The issue to be determined in this appeal is whether a food service supervisor is a "teacher" as defined by the Teacher Tenure Law, Tenn. Code Ann. § 49-5-501, et seq. and, therefore, entitled to its protection. The rules of statutory construction lead us to conclude that a food service supervisor is not a "teacher" and, therefore, is not entitled to tenure.
