OPINION

WALKER, Chief Justice.

Appellant waived trial by a jury and thereafter was convicted by the trial court, on his plea of "not guilty," of the felony offense of Aggravated Sexual Assault. The trial court then assessed punishment at confinement in the Institutional Division of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice for a term of fifty (50) years.
