The defendant, Lawrence Harris, was convicted of residential burglary (Ill.Rev.Stat. 1989, ch. 38, par. 19-3(a)) following a jury trial. At his sentencing hearing the court found he was subject to a mandatory Class X sentence. The court sentenced him to 15 years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
