NEWBERN, Justice.

On June 1, 1979, the appellant, Charles Laverne Singleton, stabbed Mary Lou York to death at York's Grocery Store in Hamburg. He was convicted of the crime on October 30, 1979. We described the evidence against Mr. Singleton as "overwhelming" and affirmed his conviction of capital felony murder and sentence to death. Singleton v.
