John McClanahan (McClanahan) originally filed suit against Remington Freight Lines, Inc. (Remington), and Richard Barbour, Remington's safety director.1 McClanahan, who was employed as a truckdriver, claimed that Remington wrongfully discharged him in retaliation for his refusal to violate Illinois law by driving his truck through the state with a load greater than the statutory maximum 73,280 pound weight...
