Stewart filed suit in the circuit court of McLean County against defendant Republic Insurance Corporation to recover under a dwelling insurance policy issued by defendant for damages plaintiff incurred when his dwelling and contents were destroyed by a fire on September 12, 1991. Defendant answered alleging that the policy in question had been cancelled for nonpayment of premiums...
