On September 5, 1991, a lone robber, wearing a dark mask and armed with a silver handgun, entered a bank in Berkeley, California, and took $24,625 from the bank's teller drawers. The robbery was styled a "takeover" robbery by the police because the robber went behind the teller counter and removed the money himself.
