This action rose from a traffic accident caused by Donald Horton, who drove through a stop sign and into the path of the motorcycle that Hollis Hart and Joan Gann were riding. Hart and Gann's pleadings alleged Horton's negligence and invoked the doctrine of respondeat superior to attribute that negligence to Horton's employer, Gilgon, Inc.
