The defendant, Larry Jones, was charged with two counts of aggravated battery, in violation of La.R.S. 14:34. At his arraignment the defendant pled not guilty to both counts of aggravated battery. A preliminary hearing, resulted in a finding of probable cause on one count of aggravated battery, and a reduction of the second count of aggravated battery to a charge of simple battery.
