This is a products liability action instituted after Timothy Smith was injured while operating a punch press in the course of his employment for Putco, Inc. ("Putco"). Putco is located in Story City, Iowa, and manufactures automobile accessories. Smith was injured on September 26, 1989, as he was operating a Komatsu punch press.
