Bryant Brown was arrested February 25, 1991, and charged by bill of information on March 28, 1991, with illegal possession of stolen property valued at over $500.00 in violation of La.Rev.Stat.Ann. § 14:69 (West 1986) and with possession of a motor vehicle on which an identifying number had been removed in violation of La.Rev.Stat.Ann. § 14:207 (West Supp.1994).
