The State of Louisiana, Department of Transportation and Development ("DOTD") appeals a judgment finding it 70% at fault in the accidental highway death of Rodney "Pete" Reid in a construction zone, and assessing damages of $887,906.00 in favor of the plaintiff, Linda Wilkerson Reid, for her husband's wrongful death, and damages of $10,411.41 in favor of Mrs. Reid, as administratrix of her husband's estate, for his survival action.
