Raymond Casarez, plaintiff, brought this suit against Genaro Vasquez, M.D., and NME Hospitals d/b/a Sierra Medical Center (Sierra or the hospital), alleging that their negligence proximately caused his contraction of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
